DEIRDRE L. JONES

Who Am I
I am Deirdre L. Jones, owner and barber of Dame’s Cutz. I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. As a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a barber. My grandmother was a barber and my godmother was a beautician. I spent many of my childhood years in the beauty shop. When I was a child, I cut all my doll’s hair off. I also began experimenting with my own hair.

I am a high school graduate of Tascosa High School, Amarillo, Texas. I relocated to Dallas, Texas in pursuit of my barber’s career. I graduated from Larry’s Barber College, Dallas, Texas. After 10 years of on the job experience, my passion for my career is stronger than ever. I truly enjoy the professionalism that comes with being a barber.
I have an Associates Degree in Public Health from North Lake Community College, Irving, Texas. I completed my Bachelors of Art and Science at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Environmental Science is a huge passion of mine and I hope to continue my education and pursue Grad school soon!

I am a proud member of Concord Church, Dallas, Texas, Pastor Bryan Carter. During my off time, I love to learn new things, try new things, read, cook, travel, go to sporting events, I am a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, go to concerts, shop, pamper myself, and above all, spend time with my family and friends.
Who and What is Dame’s Cutz?
A Dame is the title given to a woman equivalent to the rank of knight. In the black community, female barbers are a hot commodity. I am a black female barber, so the title just fit and describes my outward appearance and my craft perfectly.

Dame’s Cutz takes pride in grooming and pampering each client, striving to cater to all client’s request accurately. I value each and every one of my clients and I desire to build a lasting and personal relationship, not just make money. Dame’s Cutz caters to all backgrounds, genders, and ethnicities.

My mission is provide clean, reliable, hospitable services while cutting the latest trends in a timely manner. I want my clientele to leave anxious to return for the joy of the experience all over again!
